A BREAST CANCER NOTIFICATION

 I finally, after 7 years decided it was time to sit down and put on paper what had been in my head for all these years.  It's never easy to go over tragedy, again and again.  It is almost like the POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER SYNDROME.   To write a book, of a time that caused hurt and pain to all those around me, made me relive every moment.  Perhaps that is why it took so long to write.  I needed time to heal first.  Which seems sort of odd.  Heal then turn around and tear the scab off.  The very thing we teach our kids not to do with their cuts and scrapes. 

They (whoever they are) say it is theraputic to write your story.  So by "they" - they must mean the therapists,  Because it can truly make you consider going in to see one whcih then helps increase their pockets.  As I pondered over the moments of that day, I guess I had really tried to block alot of things out.  But when I had to sit down and bring them to the fore front, it was the old snow ball effect.

As the memories started to come to me, so did the tears.  Remembering what my children's reactions were, hearing the words and the screams again in my head.  Watching my husbands reactions in my head again.  Getting the phone calls from far away family members.  It did take me a little while to do it, but I did.  Now I know why it takes so long for some people to write books.  I must say if it didn't do anything else,  it did encourage me to write more.  And that's exactly what I intend to do.  I have enough trauma in my life to fill a library.  So at the advice of my doctors, family, friends, and mere strangers, I wrote one of what will be many to come.
